The Aborigines are the native indigenous people of Australia and it’s surrounding islands.

The term ‘Aboriginal’ generally applies to those who indigenous inhabitants of Australia, Tasmania, and the islands surrounding it. The earliest dated remains of aboriginal people date back to more than 125,000 years ago.

This period of time was spent in complete isolation from the world outside of Australia and often even the tribes in Australia were isolated from each other due to geologic or ideological barriers.

Aboriginal art plays a major role in all parts of daily life. Art was used to pass down anything from religious rituals to dreams and important symbols of the culture. Art was the way the Aboriginal people fleshed out their concept of ‘Dreamtime’ which is their version of the afterlife. These artistic symbols were passed down through individuals in the tribes like family heirlooms. So important were these symbols that in certain tribes only members of certain families were actually permitted to draw them.

Because nature and dreams are so important to their culture, Aboriginal clans often use these images in their artwork.  Landscapes are frequently used to tell stories, or dreams, and are often depicted in aerial views.  Another artistic tradition is to show the insides of animals within an outline of its shape.  Land animals, birds, and fish are often drawn with a visible skeleton and organs.  Likewise, human females are sometimes depicted with visible wombs.

The earliest examples of aboriginal art are found on cave faces and pieces of bark. Traditionally though these symbols would be drawn on anything from cave walls to people. In Aboriginal tattoos, also known as body painting, the art style frequently consists of elaborate and complex lines with cross-hatching, and dots to create beautiful patterns and images. The aboriginal art was usually created in earthy colours, from paint made from ochre. Such ochres were also used to paint their bodies for ceremonial purposes. These Aboriginal tattoos were limited in color by the available resources, so the primary colors of aboriginal are red and grey. Bark painting is the more recent medium for Aboriginal art and probably developed from body painting.

The Aboriginals built their culture around nature and the dreams of their people. Due to this the artwork of the tribes consists primarily of expansive landscapes with dreamlike visuals. Landscapes are frequently used to tell stories, or dreams, and are often depicted in aerial views. A frequent trait in aboriginal art was to show rough outlines of an animal with crude skeletal and organ systems visible inside.     The artists of the aboriginals used their as a way of associating themselves with nature. An artist would use parts of his own body as a stencil in developing the form of an animal. It was in this way they illustrated their understanding of the connection between themselves and nature. A major theme in such art was man communing and sometimes even becoming one with natural forms

In Aboriginal culture, the artwork of a tribe was considered sacred and powerful. Due to this the tribes of Aboriginal Australia would attempt to keep their art secret only to be shared with and explained to people who had attained some status with the clan.   

This artwork also frequently had a deeper hidden meaning only to be shared within the tribe. Due to this secrecy it is believed that the Aboriginals developed a system of artistic dots as a way to hide and conceal an artwork’s true meaning and power. Others believe the dots are important, in and of themselves, and are not used to camouflage cultural secrets but have their own hidden meaning. The Aborigines do not themselves, however, have never come forth to profess one way or the other.

Although most traditional Aborigines do not have tattoos as part of their customs, a few tribes also employ scarification or ritualistic cutting in order to decorate their bodies. Due to this people who attempt an aboriginal frequently attempt such body modification as well.

People who seek to acquire aboriginal body art frequently do so in order to profess their beliefs in their connection with nature. They took what they want or what they like, they show no mercy. For these reasons their symbol became the symbol of lawlessness and rebellion. Jolly roger was a general name given for a variety of pirate flag, but the most popular among those flag is a black rectangular flag with a white skull and crossbones.

White flag is used as the universal indication or sign for surrender. The black flag stands as a symbol of refusal against to be oppressed. Pirates used a black flag rather than sailing with the flag of a country or an organization like other ships and crews do, from this it is clearly visible that they are not ruled or willing to be ruled by any government or organization.

A black rose is rarely used to symbolize a movement or belief system. In general the color Black is associated with anarchism, but for a popular anarchist journal, lecture series and stores, a black rose was used as the symbol and name

A black fist and Black cross are also used for depicting Anarchy.

People who accept these pirate ideology are found to be identified with the anarchist belief as they stand today. Refusal to obey the copyright law, such as illegally downloading movies or music’s and sharing these things, these malpractice is known as piracy and pirating. These Internet rebels which are also known as “Techno-anarchist” lives with their free lifestyle and independent beliefs and refuse to obey the laws of government, which they call it as unfair.

Media pirates are not the only one who embrace these pirate ideology but also people who hates or rejects the normal way of life especially for most people in western culture.

Today anarchy is less about getting the broad realization of governmental or political chaos, and more about accepting one’s own freedom and independence. It is not about getting rid of all laws, but to get rid of laws which are meaningless or seem to be unfair.

Tattooing is the ideal medium of displaying this belief of anarchy. Tattoos are considered as outside the cultural standard for most of the people. But tattoos are traditionally associated with those people who avoid societal conventions entirely.
